On Friday, March 30th, a large group of walkers assembled (despite rainy weather) for an ecumenical Good Friday "Walk for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries" to fight hunger. Participants followed a 3-mile course beginning at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Old Lyme, continuing past Christ the King Church to the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, and concluding at St. Ann's Episcopal Church. All ages took part, including 11 year old Eva, who had a bake sale with beautifully decorated cookies to raise additional funds. The walk raised more than ever before – a total of $2,597.00! SSKP is so grateful for all the organizers, participation faith communities, donors and walkers who came together to fight hunger!
