Feeding the Hungry Along the Shoreline

get helpThe Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries is an interfaith service that provides food and fellowship to those in need and educates our community on hunger and poverty.

Funding for Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries comes, in part, from Middlesex United Way, whose vision is that all those who reside in Middlesex County live in a healthy, vibrant, inclusive, and thriving community.

SSKP is partnering with MUW to help achieve their goal of providing individuals and families in Middlesex County with access to services and resources for their basic needs. Because access to healthy food is such a basic need for residents on the shoreline, for 2017-2018 SSKP has received a grant of $8,000 from Middlesex United Way to purchase food for our pantries in Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook. These funds will make a real difference, providing enough fresh and non-perishable food for more than 22,200 meals for families who are struggling to make ends meet.

SSKP is grateful for the support of the Middlesex United Way. To learn more about MUW, and their impact on Middlesex County in the areas of Education, Income, Health and Housing, please go to: www.middlesexunitedway.org
